What worship dance builds
Meaning made visible
Worship dance gives dancers a way to embody what they believe — to make abstract faith into something physical.
Technique in service of story
Every line matters more when it means something. Our worship class raises the technical bar because the story is worthy of it.
Intergenerational community
Unlike most of our classes, worship dance welcomes dancers across age groups and levels — often including adults and teens together.
Ministry opportunities
Advanced worship students sometimes perform at church services, outreach events, and community gatherings — dance as service.
A welcoming entry to faith content
For dancers whose families are faith-centered, this class is often the first place they see their faith and their art connect.

Worship Dance
All levels
One open class for now, with levels introduced as enrollment grows. Instruction meets each dancer at their level.
What to expect
Worship dance class opens with a short reflection — sometimes scripture, sometimes a lyric, sometimes a moment of silence. We move through a warm-up that combines ballet technique with modern floor work. Each season we build a piece together: the theme is chosen, the music is selected, the choreography develops over weeks. Performances at recital are always opt-in and always invitational — never required.
Dress code
Modest form-fitting top (covers midriff), flowing pants or leggings, bare feet. Hair back. Nothing that restricts the full range of movement. Full dress code details are shared at enrollment.
How worship integrates into class
For dancers and families who share our faith tradition, worship dance is an opportunity to put that faith into practice through art. Choreography often comes from hymns, contemporary worship music, or scriptural themes — lament, hope, renewal, gratitude.
For dancers and families who don't share that tradition: this is a class about meaning-making through movement. You're welcome here. The themes are often universal even when the music isn't, and no dancer is ever required to participate in a reflection that doesn't fit their family's values. For more on this, see our faith integration approach.
