A studio built on conviction

Our story

Reverence began with a simple idea — that dance could nurture both technical excellence and spiritual character at the same time, without compromise to either.

Why Reverence exists

Reverence Studios was founded on a conviction: that the studio a child dances in shapes who they become, not just what they can do. The standards of classical dance training are worth preserving. The pressure, comparison, and harsh culture that often come with those standards are not.

Our founder and leadership team saw too many dancers lose their love for the art form somewhere in middle school — not because they stopped loving movement, but because the environment had stopped loving them. They saw promising young artists walking away from studios that had reduced them to their flexibility scores and competition placements. They saw Christian families looking for a studio that reflected their values and not finding one with the technical seriousness they wanted.

Reverence was built for those families. And it was built to hold a high bar technically — because cutting technical corners is its own form of disrespect to the dancer.

Stories from families who stayed

  • “My daughters have been dancing at Reverence for 14 years. We absolutely love Reverence with all of our hearts. It's been a fantastic, positive, and upbeat atmosphere for them. The teachers are so kind and patient and give the dancers a sense of positive self-worth. This studio has changed my daughters' lives and mine for the better. ”

  • “We weren't sure how a Christian studio would feel for our family. Reverence surprised us with how genuinely welcoming the community is. The technical instruction is strong, modesty and respect are real, and our daughter has never felt out of place. ”

What has stayed constant

The studio has grown. We have more dancers, more classes, and more staff than when we started. Some things have not changed and will not:

  • Every dancer is known by name. This is a line we will not cross, no matter how large we grow.
  • Faith is present and inviting, never imposed. Families of every background remain welcome on their own terms.
  • Technique is taken seriously — all the way from pre-dance to pre-professional.
  • Correction is given with respect. We do not shame, compare, or publicly critique dancers. Ever.
  • Every dancer is seen as a complete person, not a set of skills to be optimized.

These commitments shape every decision we make, from who we hire to what music we choose for a four-year-old's first combo.
