What to expect
Every ballet class opens with barre work — the foundation of classical technique. Students then move to center floor for adagio, pirouettes, petit allegro, and grand allegro across the floor. Classes close with reverence, a traditional moment of gratitude that reflects the meaning behind our studio's name. Modest attire is required; see the dress code for details.
Dress code
Pink or skin-tone tights, black leotard, pink or skin-tone ballet shoes. Hair in a secure bun. Advanced students may wear pointe shoes once cleared by their instructor. See our full dress code for age-specific requirements.
The Reverence approach to ballet
Ballet has a reputation for being harsh. At Reverence, we believe it doesn't have to be.
Our ballet instruction holds to the standards of the classical tradition while refusing the body-shaming, favoritism, and anxious perfectionism that has pushed so many dancers away from an art form they love. Every correction is given with kindness. Every dancer is known by name. Every achievement is celebrated.
What ballet builds
Beyond the obvious — flexibility, grace, coordination — ballet develops character. The patience to repeat a single exercise until it's right. The courage to try a new step knowing you'll likely fall. The humility to accept correction and the gratitude to receive encouragement.
These are the qualities we see flourish in our ballet students year after year.
