Strength and control, safely taught
Acro
Acro at Reverence develops tumbling, flexibility, and controlled strength with a safety-first philosophy. Five progressive levels from age five through advanced, taught by instructors trained in safe progression.

Ages we teach
- Ages 3–5
- Ages 6–10
- Ages 11–13
- Ages 14–18
What acro builds
Full-body strength
Acro develops upper body, core, and leg strength together — an unusual combination for a dance style and the reason acro dancers are so capable.
Flexibility with control
Unlike unsupervised flexibility training, acro teaches dancers to control the range they develop. That control is what prevents injuries later.
Safe progression
No skill is taught before the prerequisite strength is in place. That is why our acro students advance confidently — and safely.
Cross-training for every style
Ballet and contemporary students who add acro gain core strength, body awareness, and fearlessness that shows in every other class.
Confidence through mastery
Every acro skill is a small victory. Dancers build real, earned confidence.

What to expect
Every acro class begins with a thorough warm-up that prepares the specific joints and muscles for the day's work. We spend significant time on strengthening drills — planks, hollow body holds, leg raises — because strength is what makes everything else possible. Skill work is always taught with spotting, progressions, and clear criteria for advancing.
Dress code
Form-fitting top (tucked in or leotard), leggings or bike shorts. Hair in a high secured bun or tight braid. Bare feet. No jewelry. Full dress code details are shared at enrollment.
Our safety-first philosophy
Acro trains skills that look impressive on stage. They are also skills that can injure a dancer who tries them without the right preparation. At Reverence, no acro skill is taught until the prerequisite strength is in place. No dancer is pushed to a skill they are not ready for.
We take this seriously. It's the reason our acro dancers progress confidently into advanced levels — they trust their training, their bodies, and their teachers.
